Dawn founded the Anthropology + Technology Conference in 2018. As a social anthropologist, Dawn believes that social scientists play a crucial role in the design and development of emerging technologies.
After migrating to New Zealand in 1997, Dawn worked as a technical writer in both small entrepreneurial start-ups and global corporations in IT, electronics, telecommunications, banking, accounting, and healthcare. She holds an MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology from the University of Auckland.
Dawn returned to England in 2017, deciding to settle in the vibrant city of Bristol.
Dawn is a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute, and a member of the Association of Social Anthropologists (ASA) and also the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA).
